AUTOTRADER/SUZUKI/JGRMX UNADILLA RACE REPORT

August 21, 2017

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (August 21, 2017) – The penultimate round of the 2017 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship Series made its annual stop at Budds Creek Raceway in Mechanicsville, MD on Saturday. Scorching temperatures and energy-sapping humidity greeted the Autotrader/Suzuki/JGRMX trio of Weston Peick, Phil Nicoletti, and Kyle Cunningham. Justin Barcia was still sidelined due to injury.

After visiting with local news channels in the Washington, D.C. area on Thursday, Weston Peick suited up and took his Suzuki RM-Z450 to eighth place in the first moto. Peick switched up his lines for the second moto and gutted out a sixth. His 8-6 moto scores netted him sixth overall. Weston sits eighth in the standings with one round to go.

Phil Nicoletti continued to get acclimated to the race pace after being out for the better part of a year. Nicoletti’s 14-12 scores resulted in a 13th place overall finish.

Kyle Cunningham found his mojo in the first 250 moto, gapping most of the field in route to a sixth place finish. It was his best individual moto score of the outdoor series. In the second moto Kyle fell in the early going and climbed back to 12th. His 6-12 day gave him 9th overall.

The 12-round series concludes on Saturday in Crawfordsville, IN. The first moto will be televised live on MAVTV at 1:00 p.m. (EST), while the second moto will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network at 5:00 p.m. (EST).
