When the first 450 Class moto began Barcia had his work cut out for him after a first turn crash had him starting in almost last place. Peick started the race in ninth. Over the ensuing 35 or so minutes Barcia charged just outside of the top-10 all the way to 11th place. Peick rode a steady race to earn 12th. Barcia started moto two in third position while Peick was 10th. On lap six Barcia moved to fourth, and on lap nine he was relegated to fifth, which is where he finished the moto.
